Lake Superior - original 8 x 10 papercut art
Materials: cardstock, colored cardstock, paper, adhesive
It was named, Gitchigami, or the "big water", and I've re-created and re-sized it to frame easily and adorn your wall.
Many summers of my youth, my brothers and I would see who could stay in these chilly, rust-colored waters the longest before needing to rush back to the rocky shores for warmth. For many of us 'Sotans, seeing Lake Superior was the closest thing we had to seeing the ocean. It is a grand and awesome body of water with spooky depths, a rich geological history, and monster-sized, prehistoric-looking sturgeon.
This is an original, layered papercut piece, handmade in Minnesota, in a deliciously rich set of Royal blues, and featuring the world's largest freshwater lake and some of its major islands.
This unique piece is intricately cut from five layers of high quality, acid-free cardstock. The top layer is a bright white, while the layers underneath are in ever-darker shades of color. The back is titled, signed and dated as an original piece.
The work measures 8 x 10 inches (about 20 x 25 cm), and is about 1/8" thick. It will be sent to you carefully wrapped and supported to ensure it arrives safely.
Like the piece, but prefer a different color? Check out the fifth photo in this listing for all available color sets and be sure to mention your color choice in the message to seller upon checkout.

The paper cut Lake Superior artwork is beautiful, just stunning. I absolutely love it! I ordered one with a white background and one with cream; both are fantastic. They are even more beautiful than photos show. The artist is friendly and warm in manner. Shipping was incredibly fast. Thank you so much!
As I stated for my previous review for the Madison Lakes, Marnie at Crafterall is absolutely amazing. Not only does she have a true talent, but she has the best customer service skills of anyone I have dealt with on Etsy. I had a lot of questions for her and she answered each happily, and even volunteered extra information that she thought might help me. These pieces are so beautiful and detailed. I cannot wait to get them framed and complete my set with the custom piece she's making for me sometime around the end of April. So excited!
These are even more beautiful in person! I framed them by hand and hung them in the foyer to our house.
so beautiful! i have wanted this for so long and am so glad I bought it!
