Add a small piece of felted art to your collection! These square wood-backed art pieces are perfect for any small wall space in your home or office. Each is either wet felted or needle felted (or both) and then glued to a piece of MDO/plywood of the dimensions 7.5 inches squared. These offerings were for a local art show, so the back has a number along with my business card. The art hangs from a clip nailed into the wood.
Description of individual pieces:
1) "Snail Shell": Both the background and the shell colors are wet felted, with the outline of the shell needle felted over the top. The wood is painted a deep blue.
2) "Target": Done in the swirl art style, individual swirls of blacks, reds, blues, and purples are directly glued to the wood in a bullseye-like pattern. The wood is painted black.
3) "Swirl Butterfly": Swirl art style featuring a butterfly surrounded by shades of green and pink. The wood is painted a light silver.
4) "Sunrise Rooster": Wet felted, showing a sunrise silhouette rooster on a background of purple and black. The wood is painted purple.
5) "Leaf Burst": Abstract nuno felted piece featuring "leaves" of brightly colored silk felted into a black background. The wood is wrapped with turquoise silk.
6) "Tree": A needle felted tree stands on a wet felted light background. The tree's multicolored leaves consist of silk and bamboo top. The wood is painted white.
7) "Mosaic Poppy": Wet felted mosaic pieces make up a poppy with rainbow colored orbs surrounding the blossom. The wood is painted silver.
I purchase all of my felting wool from Living Felt, a company that uses cruelty-free methods to obtain their product and processes it with earth-friendly soap. Their wool also still has a small amount of hay in it, which does sometimes make its way into my creations.
At the moment I am only shipping domestically and to Canada; however, I'd love to hear feedback if you are outside of these areas and are interested in purchasing.
