What is Pashmina and difference between Cashmere & Pashmina?

Pashmina is one of the finest quality wool available on Earth & it is the most refined version of cashmere. The diameter of pashmina fibres is between 12 & 15 microns while cashmere has a diameter between 16 & 19 microns. The fact that pashmina wool is obtained during a specific period of the year from pashmina goats (Changra), who only produce between 80-170 grams every year, this wool is difficult to find. To withstand the freezing climate of the Himalayan winter which can reach -50°C, the goats produce extremely thin, but strong undercoats between the throat & belly. The wool is only harvested during the spring by brushing the pashmina goat, the washed and sorted fibres are then routed to Srinagar where pashmina is weaved.

Softness of Pashmina and How to Select the Right One for yourself?

1) Tightly Woven Pashmina Wraps are Least Soft. They have a high density of pashmina fibres (hence, they weigh a bit more) and get softer over time. 2) Medium Woven Pashmina Wraps are moderately soft. They contain a moderate amount of pashmina fibres or have a medium density of pashmina fibres. 3) Loosely Woven Pashmina Wraps are very Soft. Being loose woven, they have less density of pashmina fibres comparatively and have the softest appeal. Please note these types of pashmina have the highest chances of pilling. Additional Note: Tighter the weave, lesser are the chances of pilling.

Usually, we add 5"-6" of breathing space to the bust, waist and hips to give a comfortable fit to the coat/jacket. If you require more/less breathing space, please drop us a message.
- alternatively, you can select the 'Send Body Measures' option in the size selection menu and leave your measurements in checkout notes or send us a message, and we will make the coat/jacket accordingly.

Tips
- While taking measurements, always keep the measuring tape parallel to the ground.
- It's always best to ask someone else to take your measurements.

-BUST: Measured around the fullest part of the bust. Make sure to go under your arms, not around them!
-WAIST: Measured around the natural waist, about the height of the belly button is usually a good guideline.
-HIPS: Measured around the fullest part of the hips. Make sure to stand with your feet together.
-LENGTH: This measurement is for the actual coat/jacket length. Measure from the shoulder-neck joint (high point of shoulder) to where you want to keep hemline of the coat/jacket.

- Please note for made to order coats/jackets, there might be slight variation in colour combination since these are handmade goods, so no two pieces can be identical.

- The buyer is responsible for selecting the right size. Please contact the shop within 24 - 48 hours of receipt with any alteration concerns.

- Please note only minor alterations are possible. In case of incorrect measurements, the buyer is responsible for return shipping and re-shipping costs. We will not charge for minor alterations.

The final delivery did not match the picture on the website (it had red lighlights are opposed to orange) but the result was still gorgeous and it fit very well too.
