Soft to the touch and brimming with inner strength this British wool cover will last a lifetime with a little care. The unspun fleece will felt slightly with use making it even softer year on year. As a result, bobbling can be expected to occur for the first couple of years of use. Simply spend a few minutes snipping or pulling these away to have your bottle looking smart and lovely again.
How to use hot water bottle:
- Fill with care using slightly cooled boiled water.
- When removing the bottle to wash cover, curl the hot water bottle horizontally in your hand and pull it in through the neck of the cover,
To refresh: These natural fibres will appreciate being left to clean themselves once or twice a year.
Simply leave your dry wool cover outside on a bright sunny day or cold frosty night and the fibres will expel household smells and bacteria naturally.
To wash (only in case of spillage):
-Run lukewarm water to a bowl or bucket. Add soap only when water is still to avoid bubbles. Gently dunk your cover and hold under water until it is fully wet. Leave to soak for 15min then gently wash with as little friction as possible until clean.
-Lay flat to dry. It will not like being wrung or hung!
This yarn will felt, so do not use friction or create a soap lava when washing.

Every effort has been taken to ensure your wool is clean and lovely to the touch.
Providing you with an ethical and sustainable product is a high priority here at Spindle and Skein. I aim for a very low impact process between you and the fleece so all my wool is responsibly sourced, washed with a professional herbal soap and dried in the open air. As a result you may come across a tiny dried blade of grass or similar and find wool smells a little ''sheepy''. Please kindly take this as a badge of authenticity and embrace the rustic charm!
