These are exactly what I was hoping for. I wanted a rough washcloth to exfoliate my skin, which tends to get bumpy on my arms and legs, plus I have a pretty dirty job and just wanted to feel extra clean. These aren't scratchy enough to turn my skin red but rough enough to do the job well! My skin is definitely smoother overall. I've washed them a couple of times and they definitely became softer but not too much.
