Necklace length: 20 1/2 Inches; Pendant height: 2 Inches; Pendant width: 1 1/8 Inches

This necklace consists of a fabulous square cabochon of green Wyoming Apple jade, paired with a glistening triangle of Mother-of-Pearl. This Wyoming Apple jade is known across the world as some of the finest nephrite jade existing. It is found primarily in the Granite Mountains and south at Crooks Gap, Green Mountain in Wyoming. Mother-of-Pearl is a smooth, shining, iridescent substance forming the inner layer of the shell of some mollusks. I chose to set both centerpiece cabochons in a serrated sterling silver bezel, and backed with 24 gauge sterling silver sheet backing. The hanger is a V-cut sterling tube, large enough for Sarah to run the accompanying beads through. The beads used repeat the beautiful apple green color of the jade, and the white of the Mother-of-Pearl, as well as some lighter values of green to add contrast. These beads include Canadian green jade in the shape of drop claws, large square discs, and carved bears. Other beads included are cultured pearls, Swarovski crystal, Hsiu jade, and Czech glass. There are numerous sterling silver spacer and larger sterling accent beads. The clasp is sterling silver with a hook and loop style. This necklace is 20 1/2 inches long, and the centerpiece measures 2 inches long, by 1 1/8 inch wide. This is an elegant piece, easy to wear with many different colors, and great for both casual and more formal settings. Sure to become a family favorite!
