This is an authentic jade pendant in a deep stormy blue grey color strung on a 4 strand braid of natural leather. The pendant is old stock jadeite from Southeast Asia and has incredible cloudy patterns throughout.

The leather tassels are beaded with ancient Egyptian faience tomb beads (the small ones) and contemporary faience beads made in Alexandria, Egypt (the big ones); a saucer shaped gemmy grey-green nephrite jade bead from Big Sur; and an amazing large piece of Victorian era red Mediterranean coral. I topped it off with a Chinese knot.

Two grey jade beads are woven into the cord, and they have striking veins of green that run through them.

The toggle is a dark teal blue Big Sur jade pebble. These nephrite jades are recovered from the ocean floor by skilled divers. I paired it with a few more faience beads, a sterling silver band, and a vintage green glass bead from Morocco.

All the gorgeous natural untreated jade beads are hand carved by my friend and fellow artist Ray Robbins.

This jadeite necklace is 18 inches long (45.7 cm). The jade tassel pendant is approximately 4.5 inches long and 1 inch wide (11.4 x 2.5 cm).
