Early 1900's DAYTON Computing Scale Co. Antique Barrel 30lb Mercantile Scale
Rare model 346
Made in Dayton, Ohio USA in 1917
The Computing Scale Co; Dayton Money Weight, 30 lb. Barrel Scale with Light, scarce model #346. A thirty pound horizontal barrel type computing scale with removable glass platform (not included). Heavy cast iron base and counter weight. Glass window on side of the scale allows the customer to view all of the internal operating parts. When an object is placed on the scale the top sign is illuminated. This scale can compute prices at all weight graduations. The trade name "Money-Weight" was derived from the computations that are printed on the internally illuminated rotating paper cylinder.
Condition: Used. It has not been restored and would be an excellent candidate for it. The weight and computations are working. I have not tested it for accuracy. It is missing the glass platform. Some pieces of glass are missing or cracked. It is being sold As-Is (meaning with any and all defects, known or unknown).
This is an absolutely beautiful unique piece that would look great in just about any home or business!
