Sometimes there's a little nice hidden in your knotty-ness. This is the Nice guitar strap with a little red heart in the woodgrain. The strap is fully carved for a beautiful texture and depth, and has a antique brown wash.

This strap is a traditional style guitar strap, tapered at one end. This strap works for all guitars (acoustic and electric) as well as basses. Adjusts from 38" to 52" and measures 2.5" wide
You can use a little leather tie to attach it to the head of the instrument on guitars that have only one strap pin.

I start with a tooling leather leather then cut, carve, paint, and dye it, and then apply a protective coat to keep it safe from the elements. Because I use a thick tooling leather, it will soften up quickly but maintain it's shape and will last for many years (I've seen ones 40 years old with life still left in them made from the same type of leather). All sides of the strap have been dyed and protected, too, so the dye won't redeposit on clothes or instruments.

All of my pieces use premium grade vegetable tanned leather (or "Veg-tan"). Vegetable tanning uses botanical products (such as tree bark) to turn the material from hide to leather. It is one of the older tanning methods and takes about a month to complete the process. Because natural materials are involved, it is a much more eco-friendly process than chromium tanning (or "chrome tan" which is what most clothing, handbags and accessories are made from).

Vegetable tanned leather does require a little bit of breaking in, and the best way to do this is just use the piece! Movement of the leather and the oils from your skin will start to soften it immediately. Once you've experienced a Moxie & Oliver piece you'll be hooked!
