HEARTS DESIRE is quilt inspired painted hub cap. I admire the artistry and craftsmanship required in making quilts but not being handy myself with a needle and thread, I tried to capture the essence of a crazy patchwork quilt design with brush and paint!
Using a found hubcap as my canvas I painted "fabric" in floral patterns and assembled to replicate a quilt. The center was created with wood pieces and then sprayed with a protective coating. HEARTS DESIRE is an original 3 dimenional piece of art suitable as a wall hanging.
HEARTS DESIRE is 15" in diameter and the backside is painted black, signed and titled.
