Hand Carved Harpy Siren Earrings: Cloisonne, Blue Pearl, 14k Gold Filled, Odyssey Inspired

These earrings feature a hand-carved and carefully painted cloisonné design of a harpy — one of the powerful wind spirits found in ancient Greek mythology and famously described in The Odyssey. Harpies were originally depicted not as monsters, but as swift messengers of the gods, embodiments of sudden gusts of wind and the unpredictable forces of nature. Over time, their image shifted in myth and art, becoming guardians, guides, and sometimes agents of divine justice. Their dual nature — both protective and fearsome — made them enduring symbols of transformation, power, and the unseen currents that shape fate.
Each harpy is carved into the metal, kiln-fired and then hand-painted enamel in deep, mythic tones. The artwork is framed by a hand-shaped border and finished with a glowing blue pearl that adds movement and a touch of oceanic color — a subtle nod to Odysseus’ long and winding journey across the sea.

Every step of the piece is crafted by hand in my Florida studio. The result is a detailed pair of earrings that blends ancient storytelling with meticulous craftsmanship, creating a wearable piece of mythology.

Sirens are half bird half women fantastical creatures who would lure man with their songs.
They are especially mentioned in the Odyssey written by Homer.
In here they are diving off a cliff.

PRODUCT CARE:
If you need to clean the resin or give it a light polish, a damp microfiber or chamois cloth can clean the setting without damaging it. You can also clean it with water and mild soap such as dish soap. A little goes a very long way with soap. Make sure that the piece is thoroughly rinsed before wearing it again.

Avoid storing any piece in direct sunlight. While my pieces are made with a high-grade resin with UV resistant properties, some resins will yellow when exposed long term to the sun’s light or heat.

Avoid spa, jacuzzi, shower because resin is technically a plastic, high heat is the best way to damage it quickly. The resin would expand and lift from the charm.

Avoid sharp objects from rubbing on the piece such as other charms.

Store your jewelry in a covered dry, dark place.
