Buckwheat pillows provide excellent support for the head, neck & back because the hulls contour to the weight & shape of the body.

1. Characteristics of the pillow

• Natural materials - we use 100% natural materials in the manufacture of the pillows – the pillows are filled with buckwheat hulls, we sew pillow-cases using cotton or linen fabrics;
• Pillows are breathable - they keep a sleeper cool in the summer and warm in the winter - buckwheat hull filling provides free air circulation; therefore, you will not sweat in the hot weather when sleeping on a pillow like this one;
• Micro-massage effect - it is possible to feel a little graininess of the buckwheat hulls through the pillow-case, during sleeping time they will easily massage your neck muscles by relaxing them and providing a deeper sleep;
• It is recommended to use the pillow for the prevention of osteochondrosis, insomnia, neck stiffness, as well as the use of the pillow may reduce or eliminate your snoring – the pillow conforms to the curves of a sleeper’s head and neck when use correctly, thus ensuring the steady support of cervical spine and head. When head is flush with the body, it is easier for a sleeper to breathe;
• To ease the back pain - you can sleep by placing the pillow between your knees;
• Scented filling – the buckwheat hulls have a natural and gentle scent;

2. Structure of the pillow

• Buckwheat hulls are the husks that protect the buckwheat kernel from various damages. The buckwheat hulls are obtained from the cleaning of buckwheat grains - the hulls are a by-product of food processing.
The buckwheat hulls are an environmentally friendly material - it is a natural and renewable resource, as well as fully recyclable - when the pillow filling has already served its purpose, it can be poured out into a flower-bed or a compost heap. 
• Cotton or linen fabrics - we use natural materials for sewing the pillow-cases;

3. Preparation of the pillow for use

• Adjust the filling quantity - the pillow is filled with a reserve. Pour out the excess filling by opening the zipper on the sides of the pillow.
• The optimal quantity of pillow filling – the filling should be left so much that, when supporting the head and neck on the pillow, the excess content would fall aside. By raising the head, it will be clearly visible that pillow has conformed to your body shape. It is important that the pillow, which is prepared for sleeping, in the adjusted position looks half empty, in this case the use of the pillow for your relaxation will provide a maximum effect. This recommendation does not preclude the opportunity to try and find the most appropriate filling quantity.
• You can save the excess filling reserve to increase the content of the pillow after ~ one year, when the pillow filling will become flat;
• The pillow thickness - it depends on your favorite sleeping position. If you sleep on the sides, a thicker pillow will be more comfortable. The wider your shoulders, the higher should be your pillow. The majority of people prefer pillows 10-14 cm in height, but owners with wider shoulders will need a pillow 14-17 cm in height. If you sleep on your back or stomach, you will need a thinner pillow.
• Use the interchangeable pillow-cases - you can buy in our shop the pillow-cases of the appropriate size made from cotton or linen. Of course, you can use the pillow-cases of your bed linen set. The most important thing is that they are made from natural materials.

4. Care of the pillow
• Use pillow-cases which you can change and wash as soon as it is necessary;
• When the pillow-case gets dirty, pour out the filling and wash the pillow-case (up to 40 degrees);
• Do not wash the pillow content, because it is not practicable to dry the buckwheat hulls;
• Do not keep the pillow in the humidity for a lengthy period of time, do not pour liquids on the pillow, if the accident has occurred, pour out the filling in a thin layer and try to dry it - in the sun, oven, or on radiators;
• The pillow content can be poured out into a bowl from time to time, let it ventilate, put it in the sun, if possible;
• Using a pillow, the buckwheat hull edges rub against one another; in this way specs of dust appear. Therefore, from time to time, the pillow content can be poured out and passed through a sieve - separating the specs of dust.

5. Usage time
• Good characteristics of the pillow filling function for 2 years. The filling can be used for a longer period of time, it depends on how intensively you use the pillow. After 2 years, the filling begins to lose its aromatic characteristics, like herbal teas or other dried plants.
• After 2 years of usage, the filling is recommended to be replaced.
