Can I mark my International order as "GIFT" and avoid Customs?

Please be aware that this is considered Customs fraud. We do not declare a lesser value than the sales price for the items you have purchased as that would be illegal. International trade laws require us to declare the true value of goods on customs forms, even if the order is marked as a gift.

International Orders, Customs, Duties & Refused Packages

International buyers are responsible for all customs duties, import taxes, tariffs, brokerage, clearance, and other fees charged by the destination country or carrier. Etsy may collect some taxes at checkout, but additional charges may still be due. Buyers must complete all customs requirements and pay charges needed for delivery. If a shipment is refused, abandoned, delayed, or returned due to unpaid import charges or incomplete customs requirements, the buyer is responsible for return shipping and direct return costs where allowed by law. Refunds are issued only after returned items are received and inspected. Original shipping and customs/import charges are non-refundable unless required by law.

Cancellation requests are accepted only before an order has been processed or shipped. Once an order has shipped, it can no longer be canceled and must follow the applicable return policy. If you need to request a cancellation, please contact us as soon as possible. We cannot guarantee cancellation once processing has begun.

Returns & Condition of Returned Items

Returned items must be unused, undamaged, complete, and in their original condition and packaging where applicable. Buyers are responsible for return shipping unless otherwise agreed. Any loss in value caused by use, damage, missing packaging, or incomplete returns may be deducted from the refund where permitted by law. Please contact us before returning any item so we can provide return instructions.

Refunds for approved returns are processed only after the returned merchandise has been received and inspected. We do not issue refunds while merchandise is still in return transit. Once the return is received, we will review the item’s condition and any applicable shipping or return charges before determining the final refund amount. Incorrect Address & Undeliverable Packages

Buyers are responsible for providing a complete and accurate shipping address at checkout. Please contact us immediately if an address needs to be corrected. Once an order has shipped, we may not be able to reroute it. Packages returned due to an incorrect address, refusal, failure to claim, or incomplete delivery requirements may be subject to additional shipping costs. We are not responsible for delays caused by the shipping carrier, weather, customs processing, holidays, government actions, or other circumstances outside our control. If tracking shows an unusual delay, please contact us and we will assist with the carrier when possible. A shipping delay alone does not automatically qualify an order for cancellation or refund.
