📐 Sizing & Fit Notes (Read Carefully)

Important:
All measurements listed below reflect the finished corset measurements, not body measurements.

A general corsetry guideline:
👉 Choose a corset waist 4–6 inches smaller than your natural waist measurement.

Bust Cup Measurements

(measured horizontally across the breast)

Small A cup: 9”

Medium B cup: 9.25”

Large C cup: 9.5”

Extra Large D cup: 9.75”

XXL DD cup: 10”

Vertical cup height: 6”

Cup height and coverage can be adjusted during the mockup phase. Every body is unique—expect refinement, not perfection.

Underbust & Hip Proportions

Underbust: measured 5” above the waist, drafted 7” larger than the waist

Hips: measured 6” below the waist, drafted 10” larger than the waist

🧵 Construction & Boning Tips

Use 1/4” (6mm) spiral steel boning, especially at side seams, for flexibility

Boning length: seam length minus 1” (2.5cm)

Always create a mockup before ordering final boning

If cutting and tipping your own boning, plan for at least 6 yards

Running out mid-project is a crime against morale.

✂️ Length Adjustments

To shorten: remove length 1” above the waistline, then smooth pattern lines

To shorten hips: remove length 3–4” below the waist

To lengthen: add length 1” below the waist
(Significant length changes may require additional fabric and boning.)
