This listing is for one half-pan of Space Dust watercolor paint. This is a rich, shimmery, purple mica pigment that washes very nicely.
GreyStone Arts paints are small batch, hand mulled paints using the antiquated technique of hand mulling on a glass slab using pure pigment, gum arabic, clove essential oil, organic local honey. There are no other additives or fillers. Each watercolor pan takes at least two to three pours during the curing process. This process can take anywhere from one day to two or three weeks depending on the pigment and weather conditions.
Most of the pigments used are natural earths and mica based pigments, though some synthetic pigments are used at times to achieve specific colors. This particular pigment is mica based.
Please note that during the drying process, some watercolors may display cracks in them. This does not take away from the integrity of the paint. Some paints may appear to be slightly gummy on the surface, this is also normal and does not harm the paint. Often times weather conditions can change the drying and surface of the paints, it does not cause harm and they will paint just the same (humidity, for example, can cause the paint to be sticky on the surface).
It is recommended that one adds a drop or two of water to the surface of the paint, and allow a minute or two for the colors to activate before painting.
