A set of four beautiful enamelled styling dishes ranging in size from one inch diameter to three inches in diameter. This particular listings for a set of four dishes in a beautiful dusky blue grey shade and is teamed perfectly with hand-dyed silk ribbon in a choice of widths and lengths and presented on a wooden bobbin . Perfect for flat lays, wedding styling , photographers, stylists and all creatives ! As these mini styling dishes are made from enamelled copper they are a far more practical addition to your styling collection than the more fragile ceramic dishes. Although care must be taken not to drop the dishes as the surface area may fracture. The surface is matte, so you can be confident that there will be minimal glare or reflection in photos.

As they are hand-made the styling dishes may have slight imperfections in terms of texture and surface detail. Dimensions of each of the four dishes are 1 inch, 1.25 inches, 1.75 inches and 4 inches. Dimensions are approximate due to the hand-made nature of the product . The dishes are made from copper and finely enamelled on both the top and underside . Where the enamel layer is finer there may be areas -especially on the rims and on the smaller dishes -where the enamel is more apparent underneath.

The ribbon is 100% silk and is bias cut which gives it a nice body or stretch. Over time the cut edges will fray naturally. There is a seam every two to three yards and the raw unfinished edges will naturally soften with wear. The seams are finished with silk thread and just a 1/8" overlap to help create a seamless appearance throughout the spools.

The ribbon is colourfast in cold water. if you do decide to wash please note that you should only use a pH neutral detergent on these ribbons and only if necessary . Ribbons can be ironed on a warm/medium hot temperature. Pigment irregularities and marbling may be present. As the silk is a wholly organic and natural product and is all hand-dyed there may be some unavoidable shrinkage of the fibres during the dyeing process. Measurements stated in the listing are taken before the dyeing process.

Although plant based dyes are considered safer for the environment, many plant based dyes require the use of dissolved metal oxides as the mordant to help the dye stick to fabric and to alter the shade. These metal mordants, such as copper, tin, iron , aluminium and chrome are toxic to people & the environment especially if the dyeing is on a commercial scale. The dyes I use are either eco-friendly synthetic non-toxic dyes , using household salt or vinegar as a mordant or natural dyes which do not require the use of a mordant at all- so if you do decide to choose silk dyed with plant-based dye over eco-friendly synthetic dyes be sure to read the small print on the mordants used.

My silk ribbons are 100% silk and the dyes I use are described by the manufacturer as eco-friendly synthetic dyes which are non-toxic, as determined by the Consumer Product Safety Commission and can be safely flushed through both sewer and septic systems. The mordants I use are household salt and vinegar, the exact same I use on my food ! The remaining dyes I use are natural dyes and used without any mordant at all .

There is the option to purchase a wooden bobbin for your silk ribbon in the drop-down menu in each listing. If you have selected this option the bobbin will be the appropriate size for the width of ribbon selected (ranging from 1/2 inch width to 4 inch width) and hold the appropriate amount of yards of ribbon - as selected . The contemporary wooden bobbins are made from sustainable wood and are unstained,smooth and crafted from pale wood.
