Do you offer a layaway service?

Yes, of course. Please contact us to arrange to pay for and acquire your vintage pieces through us via scheduled instalments. Please note, a down payment of 20% is required and, should you not be able to complete your payments, a 20% cancellation fee will be taken in order to cover administrative costs.

Many of the pieces in the Gemma Redmond Vintage collection are by renowned designers. Can you tell me about guaranteeing authenticity?

We are able to conclude the authenticity of jewellery through experience and extensive research into jeweller’s marks, design and manufacture techniques and materials used. A number of our items also have a clear provenance and all of our pieces are sourced from reputable dealers or trusted individuals, which further demonstrates their authenticity. At Gemma Redmond Vintage, we never knowingly sell replica pieces and do our utmost to guarantee the authenticity of your item. We believe in respecting the talent of designers and the heritage of brands. Consequently, if we are in any doubt about the authenticity of a product, then it does not become a part of the collection.

Gift wrapping and packaging

Every item from Gemma Redmond Vintage comes beautifully presented. Jewellery is parcelled in a black box, stamped with our white logo. The boxes are tied with our signature ribbon. Accessories are wrapped in tissue paper, secured with black stickers, and tied with our signature ribbon. You will receive a thank you note and description of your item printed onto card too. Items are sent out in fully recyclable padded paper envelopes or brown boxes. They are sealed with recyclable paper tape too.

Can you tell me more about your standard shipping service?

On orders over £50, standard delivery is free to all mainland UK addresses. On orders over £150, standard delivery is free to international addresses. Standard delivery to all UK mainland addresses is £4.95. Standard delivery to international addresses is from £8.95 up to £15.95, depending upon the location. All standard delivery orders can take 1-2 business days to be processed. We generally use Royal Mail to ship standard delivery orders within the UK and internationally. For the UK and Europe, the estimated shipping time after processing is 3-5 business days. For international orders, the estimated shipping time after processing is 5-7 business days. Generally, parcels will require a signature on receipt.

Can you tell me more about your express shipping service in the UK?

We offer express delivery to all UK mainland addresses. This costs £7.95. Express orders placed before 1pm Monday - Thursday will be delivered on the next day. Express orders placed on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday will be delivered on the following Tuesday. We generally use Royal Mail to ship express delivery orders within the UK. All express delivery parcels will require a signature on receipt.

Can you tell me more about your express worldwide shipping service?

We offer express delivery to international addresses too. All express delivery orders can potentially take 1 business day to be processed. The estimated shipping time after processing is 2-4 business days. We generally use DPD OR DHL to ship express international orders. Generally, all international express delivery parcels will require a signature on receipt.

Further conditions of return...

Items must be returned to us in the condition in which they left us. Items must be returned to us in their original packaging. The buyer must pay for the return postage. If you are returning from abroad, you must clearly label your parcel 'UK RETURN'. This means that no import duties should be charged to us. Any import duties that we have to pay to receive items back into the UK due to incorrect labelling, will be deducted from the amount you are refunded. Items are returned to us at your own risk, so we advise that you insure your returned parcel against damage or theft. Shipping charges will not be refunded, unless it is deemed necessary.

What happens when I mark my order as a gift?

If you mark your item as a gift, no receipt will be included inside your parcel. It will come with a printed gift message of your choice and beautifully wrapped for your recipient in our boxes and signature ribbon. Please note, that the price of your item will still be included on the parcel's customs form. This is a legal requirement. In customs terms, your parcel is classed as a sold item, as money has been exchanged. We thank you for your understanding.

In 2019 Germany’s Packaging Act VerpackG came into effect, imposing requirements on online retailers selling to buyers in Germany. The Packaging Act promotes recycling and reuse of packaging materials (e.g. cardboard boxes, tape, and bubble wrap). My company Gemma Redmond Vintage is registered at the Packaging Register of the Stiftung Zentrale Stelle Verpackungsregister (Foundation Central Agency Packaging Register – ZSVR) with registration number DE5594323019955. My Dual System Licensing partner for the collection, sorting & recycling of the packaging is ACTIVATE by RECLAY. As a consumer please ensure that all received packaging is disposed of in the right recycling containers, Blue for all paper & cardboard and Yellow for all plastics.

Customs and Import Taxes

International buyers may be required to pay tariffs, customs and import taxes to receive their items. Buyers are responsible for any fees that may apply. Please check with your country's relevant department to find out if you may be charged and, if so, how much. If an item is returned to us due to a customer's refusal to pay fees, any costs incurred by us to receive the item back will be deducted from the amount the customer is refunded. Gemma Redmond Vintage is not responsible for delivery delays due to fees. Please note that we are required by law to declare the true reason for export and the value of the items that we ship internationally. We will always adhere to these regulations.

The Details...
This parure includes a brooch and clip on earrings. Both feature a swirl design in gold tone metal. The brooch fastens with a traditional round safety catch and the fastening pin is attached to the brooch with a round hinge fitting. The brooch measures 5.5cm x 6cm. The earrings measure 3.5cm in diameter.
All of our clip earrings are provided with removable pads for additional comfort, should you require it.

The eighties was a decade during which professional women were keen to demonstrate power and affluence via any avenue. Clothing and jewellery were the ideal means by which to make a statement without saying a word. Designers, such as Yves Saint Laurent and Christian Lacroix, produced loud, proud jewels to cater for loud, proud women. This set is typical of the bold pieces produced for 1980s women keen to assert their authority.
