Glazed Stoneware Pitcher Antique Pottery Tankard Jug Featuring 3-D Raised Figures Design

Antique, extra large, country primitive stoneware tankard, beverage pitcher. It's in good condition with one hairline crack on top rim, measuring about 2” downward. It still holds water. (See photos). Highly Glazed inside and outside. It also has crazing both on the inside and outside, as to be expected with age. (see photos) It is solid, clean, strong and well made. It has a earthy and organic brownish red tint around the upper section, a beige middle section tapering down into a blue green teal colored, raised brick floor at the base and displays beautifully. It's an example of Nostolgia and antique stoneware/crock art created by someone gifted in that field. There are several identification marks and I’ve pictured a couple. The figures are men with cigars in mouth or hand wearing large blousy slacks and box type hats. It’s perfect for flowers on the table, kitchen counter or den and will be loved for many generations to come. It will soon become that eye catching pitcher in Grandma's kitchen to pass on to the next generation of keepers! A true prized family keepsake. It stands approx 9" tall and measures approx 7.5" from tip of spout to handle. It measures approx 5" across the base It's a wonderful hand thrown piece of stoneware. The base is signed and marked but it's difficult for me to read. I purchase pottery based on the look, feel, age and quality that I see. I purchased this at a recent estate sale in a large, old country home where the owner collected primative stoneware. If you appreciate this look, You will Love it!
