While no glitter currently available is considered 100% biodegradable in every environmental condition, our glitters are made from renewable plant-based materials such as eucalyptus and corn rather than traditional polyester.
Biodegradation depends on environmental conditions including moisture, temperature, oxygen, and naturally occurring microorganisms.
⚠ Important Information
Because biodegradable glitter is made differently than traditional plastic glitter, it behaves differently in certain applications.
Some colors especially blues, greens, purples, and darker shades may bleed slightly or curl when left in water based products such as aloe vera gel or other water rich formulas. This is due to the dyes used to color biodegradable glitter and the biodegradable film itself.
Some colors remain completely stable while others may not.
If you’re planning to use glitter in:
Aloe gel
Water based body gels
Water heavy cosmetic formulations
we highly recommend purchasing a sample first to test compatibility with your specific recipe.
Creams, butters, oils, and anhydrous products generally perform much better than water based products.

Cosmetic glitter use around the eyes is not FDA approved.
If glitter enters the eyes, flush thoroughly with water and remove any remaining particles to avoid irritation.

🌈 Ingredients
Our biodegradable glitter is made from plant-derived materials and may include:
Cellulose, Microcrystalline Cellulose, Corn Starch (Zea Mays), Glycerin, Water (Aqua), Polyvinyl Acetate, Acrylates Crosspolymer, and Aluminum.
Some specialty shapes (such as stars) use a slightly different biodegradable formulation and are approximately 85% plastic free.
