I’m very satisfied with the item. Impossible to get that spice stateside otherwise. The seller actually included a couple of thank you trinkets, including a good luck “figa”. Thank you Braga. I will definitely order again from this seller. Highly recommended. Joe B. In Bridgeport CT

Excellent product. I've been making carqueja tea, and it's been very good. The seller shipped to the U.S. from Portugal with excellent packaging, a note with information about the herb, and a little memento, which adds a nice touch. I highly recommend this seller.

Carqueja (Pterospartum tridentatum) is an autochthonous Portuguese species that has numerous medicinal properties and known benefits. It grows spontaneously on vacant land and pastures, and is used in infusions and teas, as well as for seasoning dishes, such as the typical Portuguese cuisine: the carqueja rice. It is also widely used to flavor regional gourmet liqueurs and spirits, where its bitterness balances beautifully with sugar or honey.
The plant's tea has a robust, earthy, floral flavor; flower tea has an astringent taste.

Etsy’s policy prohibits sellers to share information on the medicinal use of products. Prior to making your purchase, please research reliable sources of information on herbs and spices.

***CAUTION***: The use of plants for medicinal purposes is necessary to know beyond its properties, benefits and utilities, also, its contraindications. Although plants are a natural option, they should be used under medical advice and avoid over-consumption.

***ATTENTION***:
There are other plants named Carqueja (not autochthonous of Portugal), but they also have different scientific names, of course. And there is indeed another plant originating in South America, especially in Brazil, with the name of Carqueja Amarga: Bitter Carqueja (Baccharis trimera / Baccharis genistelloides), but often sold only under the name of Carqueja, although it is a different plant and with another scientific name. This plant, in tea or infusion, has a very bitter taste.

MAGICAL: Due to its enormous resistance it is popularly used for protection, purification, courage, strength against adversity, concentration and focus.
