Highlights

  • Supplies for making crafts
  • Materials: Primary fiber: Llama; Secondary fiber: Angora

This beautiful gray handspun yarn is a blend of 80% llama wool and 20% blend of Angora bunny, kid mohair, and silk. My llama Cabo provided the fiber, which is super fine with no guard hairs. I decided to blend his fine fiber with some exotic fibers (which I love to spin) to add a bit of sheen and fuzziness. This yarn feels soft, luscious, and silky, suitable for wearing next to the skin. It will get fluffier as you work with it due to the bunny and mohair content.

Yarn specifications:

* 3-ply
* 13 w.p.i. (wraps per inch)
* Finished yarn has been washed and fulled
* Skeins are loosely tied
* There are four skeins to this lot:
Skein 1 - 3.7 oz., approximately 221 yards
Skein 2 - 3.4 oz., approximately 192 yards
Skein 3 - 2.8 oz., approximately 181 yards
Skein 4 - 3 oz., approximately 168 yards

All of my handspun yarns have been hand-processed by me, starting with the raw fleece (and many that I've shorn from my own llamas). I wash each fleece in mild soap, do all of my own carding, and hand spin and ply the yarns. The natural colors of the fibers are rich and will not fade with washing.

As with most handspun yarn, it will not be as perfectly uniform as yarns spun on machinery. I prefer things to be a little more organic and natural in life, so if you find a tiny bit of dried grass or hay in the yarn every once in a while, just remember - a roll in the hay is what the animal who provided the fiber loved most in life!
