Do you accept returns?

Yes! I accept returns up to three days after delivery, just because I am a single-woman show and the funds are used for everyday things like groceries and swimming lessons. Please do message me with any questions and/or requests about the item you have your eye on and I will do my very best to be as accurate as possible! I value honesty and integrity, and I strive to relay these values into my business. Unfortunately it has happened where a concern has been brought up about a piece long after the sale was completed. These will be handled case-by-case and subsequent solutions will be at my discretion. I want you to be happy with your piece forever, and I will do what I deem acceptable given the circumstances.

Maximum layaway term: 3 months Layaway payments, items purchased on layaways, and personalized items are nonrefundable unless the item arrives gravely misrepresented or damaged. Should extenuating circumstances present themselves and a refund is requested on an incomplete layaway, I will judge any return/refund request on a case-by-case basis. Should I choose to refund any payments on a layaway plan, it will be less 20% of the total purchase price of the item (not the payment).

What defines an antique and how do you determine this?

I am a self-taught seller, pouring my heart and soul into researching every piece I am able to get my hands on. However, this involves relying on the professional expertise of a Fellow of the Canadian Gemological association, certified gemologist in my home city. He used to work in the diamond district in NYC and has handled thousands of antique pieces so I trust his judgement as he is incredible knowledgable! I also utilize the numerous online resources available for checking out hallmarks, maker's marks, stylistic differences, antique gem setting styles, gold carving, etc. Additionally, the IG jewelry community is a wealth of knowledge.

Vintage from the 19th century
Gemstone: Garnet

A wonderful, juicy example of Georgian foiled stones. All set in 10k gold, these garnets are lovely and a fantastic shade of berry red. The pinched cut down settings are all in good condition, no damage that can be observed.

I imagine this piece was something prior to being a brooch, as the brooch component looks like a later addition. Due to the slight curve of the piece, maybe it was a fancy shoe buckle.
