Vinyl Record Display Shelf | Album Shelves | Wall Mount Vinyl Holder

Display your records and/or their sleeves on your walls with these vinyl record display shelves, available in a range of colours. Why not combine them with a Now Playing or Now Spinning stand or shelf, also available in my shop, and put your current playing album on show?

There are two versions (each with a slightly different suitability) so please read this carefully before ordering, and refer back to it for instructions (which are further down) when they arrive.

I recommend you choose the version that requires screws in the wall. They will hold the weight of whatever record you want to put on them (the plastic shelf itself will take several kilos). If you're using the version that takes Command Strips I'd advise you remove the record from the sleeve - though if you fit them right you shouldn't need to. A Command Strip will hold 800g so they will hold the weight of a record as long as they're fitted properly, but I can't be there to check you're doing that. Saying that, the instructions are down below and on my website, so all you need to do is read on and follow them and you should be fine.

Every order will include the right number of screws and rawlplugs or Command Strips to hang them.

The shelves are deep enough to hold a standard double, but probably won't hold a brand new gatefold that doesn't fold flat. (I also have a version that brackets the record sleeve top and bottom if you have a lot of new doubles that don't stay flat. Have a look in my shop for the brackets - the main photo shows a couple of Foo Fighters albums.) Give them a few weeks to settle down, or you can bracket the sleeve by using one top and one bottom, as in the 8th photo, and the record will slide in from the side.

A note on the colourless option: the plastic is colourless, but because 3d printing involves laying down a bead of plastic to make a layer, and then printing layers one on top of the other, it's not clear like glass. The effect is a bit like frosted glass.

A note on dispatch times: I set my dispatch times pretty accurately but if you need something by a certain date just let me know.

FITTING INSTRUCTIONS

For an even spacing, measure out a grid with dots 15" apart both horizontally and vertically, and place a shelf at each dot. This will ensure a 1.5" gap between records. For a smaller gap, make the dots closer together; for larger make them further apart.

To fit the screw-mounted ones:

1. Drill a hole using a 6mm bit and insert the rawlplug (or if you're drilling into wood just drill a 2 or 3mm pilot hole and don't use the rawplug).
2. Screw in the screw until the face is 5mm from the wall or surface.
3. Place the keyhole in the back of the shelf over the screw and then push down gently on the back with a hand on each side to slot it on fully. (You'll see a faint circle on the front to help you see where the slot is on the back.)
4. Check it's fitted properly. It should be snug and if done right the shelf won't move unless you pull it. If it's not quite snug enough, remove it and adjust the screw slightly, checking again until it holds it tight. Please only use the screws provided. I've made the slot on the shelf the right size to ensure it fits those screws to keep your records safe. (If you need new screws for whatever reason just let me know and I'll send you some.)

To fit the sticky tab version:

1. Remove your record from the sleeve.
2. Clean the back of the shelf and the wall with an alcohol wipe or rubbing alcohol to ensure both are clean and free of dust and finger marks.
3. Make sure the wall is painted (not wall-papered), is not flaking, and is flat (not textured like artex or woodchip). (The paint needs to be well-adhered to the wall. If paint peels away, that's a problem with the paint, not the Command Strips.)
4. Place the Command Strip on the back of the shelf, paying attention to which side is which (ones side says 'wall' all over it) and ensuring it only attaches to the flat surface and doesn't overhang. The removal tab will stick out the side, but it'll be hidden by the record anyway. Press firmly against a hard surface for 10 seconds to stick the Strip to the shelf.
5. Remove the backing strip, line up where you want the shelf to be on the wall (use a spirit level to ensure it's level) and press firmly, with both hands, on the back surface of the shelf for 10 seconds. (Meaning in total you've pressed for 20 seconds.)
6. Leave it at an hour or so before putting anything on it and check that it's stuck firmly and flat, and hasn't come away at the edges or corners. The sticky strips are rated to hold 800g so they will be fine with an empty sleeve whether single or double. (A double gatefold sleeve will usually be about 150-200g.)

Please note: I'm including the Command Strips for your use, but I can't take responsibility for how you put them up. I've tested them, and I've had lots of happy customers, but if you don't put them up properly or the surface you're sticking them to isn't appropriate, they will fall down risking damage to your record sleeves. They need to be stuck to a well-painted, smooth (non-textured, painted, not wall-papered), clean wall. If you put one up and it falls down (which won't happen if you've followed the above instructions) please don't try to re-use the Command Strip - they won't work a second time. I'd rather you got in touch and I'll send you some more.

Once fitted, for either type, please make sure your record sleeve is centred on the shelf so it doesn't slide off the side. The shelves are small so as to be unobtrusive, which means the record can't be on all wonky.

Product safety:

Intended use: For indoor use only. Designed to hold one record sleeve or CD case at a time. Adhesive strips must only be used on clean, dry, sound surfaces that are free of dust and contaminants. Only for use on smooth, painted surfaces. Paint must be well-adhered. Not for use on wallpapered or textured surfaces.

Safety warnings: Not a toy. Keep out of reach of children and pets. Do not overload. Max weight limit 450g (1lb). Exceeding the weight limit may cause the shelf to detach from the wall, causing damage to the shelf and/or the wall and/or the record sleeve or CD case. Avoid impact. Plastic can break if struck, causing sharp edges. Keep away from heat and direct sunlight. Temperatures above 40C or 104F can cause deformation and render the product useless.

Cleaning and maintenance: Dust gently with a soft, dry cloth or soft brush. Do not use chemicals.
