How long does it take to have a bronze sculpture order cast?

The casting time varies depending upon the size of the sculpture (longer for larger pieces) or upon how busy the foundry is. For small sculptures, it generally takes about 2 months to have a sculpture cast plus the shipping time. I always keep you posted on the progress of your order.

Can my bronze sculpture stay outside?

Yes, absolutely. Bronze can withstand the elements. It simply requires a coat of wax once in a while to protect the surface from oxidizing. Oxidization happens due to the copper content of bronze. If you would like it to gradually take on the distinctive aqua-green colour that copper goes over time, then just leave your sculpture alone and nature will do the rest! I include a How to Care for Your Bronze Sculpture information sheet with your certificate of authenticity package to make sure you know the specifics.

Patina options for Bronze Sculpture

Patination is a chemical process to intoduce colour to the surface of a bronze sculpture. As such, some patinas, greens in particular, can be more difficult to control than others. Over time, patinas will gradually change as they oxidize. Application of wax helps to preserve the patina colour, but must be applied about once a year if your sculpture is outside, or once every few years indoors.

BRONZE HUMPBACK WHALE SCULPTURE.

This fellow is the first in a series of whales I am be creating. I plan to do a Blue Whale and an Orca next.

He stands on a scrolled base which features flowing wave forms, supporting his dive. This sculpture is filled with calming energy and will bring tranquil beauty to your home or office.

All of my pieces are hand cast bronze using the time-honored lost wax method. The edition size for this sculpture is 20. It is approximately 12 inches long.

All sculptures come with a Certificate of Authenticity in a beautiful folio.

**If you are purchasing as a gift and the sculpture cannot be ready in time, a custom gift package which includes the folio and certificate as well as a set of images of your ordered sculpture can be given in advance of the sculpture's arrival.
