Absolutely stunning and rare 1950s cotton souvenir dress.
Amazing Egyptian art appliqués completely hand-stitched on the bottom of the skirt and made from dyed linen and cotton in bright colors and black satin silk. Great attention to detail throughout the appliqués with hand embroidery and a colorful mix of fabric and thread. Classic 50s silhouette featuring a fitted bodice, nipped waist, and a semi-full skirt with pleating at the top. Hidden metal zipper in the back. Made of a thick, bright red cotton material. The skirt is lined. No tags or labels.

The dress came from an older dealer that said it had originally belonged to her aunt, who purchased the dress while traveling through Egypt. It has been stored in a cedar chest since then, keeping the colors vibrant.

Condition:
Excellent condition overall. Light, normal wear with a few minor flaws listed below:
- The front has three faint spots near an applique (towards the right side of the skirt). See the last picture.
- The right side of the chest has a very small and light fade spot. Visible upon close inspection, but too light to photograph.
- The back of the neckline shows a little wear to the top edges.
Clean and ready for wear.
