Our cutting boards are made of wood, and as every tree is different, each wood item is different as well. You will see small variations from the product photos cause by the uniqueness of your particular piece of wood - more or less grain, lighter or darker shades, streaks of color or figure. Some woods will engrave with more contrast, such as cherry, and others with less, like walnut. Within the board, each stripe of wood, like each person, may have lighter and darker color when engraved. Like a person, each piece of wood is unique and reacts in its own way to the laser. Using only all-natural products and compounds is important to Well Written Gifts. Our finishes are carefully selected and ensured to be environmentally friendly.

Spelling and Dates and Details, Oh My!

A gift that is customized to the recipient is an awesome gift. Nothing ruins that more quickly than spelling his or her name incorrectly or getting the wedding date wrong. Please double and triple check that you have entered the details you want correctly in the personalization section. The text you enter will be copied and pasted into the design. We cannot be responsible if you submitted the wrong information and we engraved it that way. If the design calls for data that you didn't include, we will assume that you do not want that part of the design provided and we will leave it blank.

Please be sure that the shipping address you provide is accurate and that it can be reached for delivery. If the Postal Service returns an item to us because the address is invalid, there is no secure location to deliver it to or because the recipients did not pick it up, we will hold the item for 15 days. If you wish the item reshipped to a corrected address within that time, we are happy to do so for you but you will be required to pay another shipping fee to cover the additional postal costs.

We don't guarantee delivery dates or refund for delayed arrivals because once the package is with the postal service we have no control over what happens to it. What we can control is how fast it makes out the door and into USPS' hands for Priority shipment, and that is typically 4-6 business days after order. To see typical transit times for Priority Mail shipments from our location to yours, use this link: https://www.usps.com/priority-mail/map/ Use 28107 as our zip and your own as the destination to understand how long the Postal Service says the average shipment takes between those areas. ** Please remember that during the holidays, the USPS has a huge volume to process and delivery timelines may be longer. Order early!**

Lost or undelivered packages

In the event that your package did not arrive but the USPS tracking shows 'delivered', please check with family members and neighbors to see if they may have picked it up. If they have not, contact your local post office which can provide the GPS coordinates where the package was dropped off. If those coordinates indicate an address different than yours, the USPS can help to get the package back and to you. If the package was delivered to your address, then the package is assumed to have been stolen. Unfortunately, shipping insurance does not cover theft, so you may wish to consider filing a police report and a homeowner's insurance claim. WWG is not responsible for missing items marked delivered and will not replace/refund those.

Please don't ask us to copy someone else's design for you (we won't), and don't copy our designs or photos (we took the time to make them, they're ours). We will protect our intellectual capital diligently.

Please be aware that every cutting board is made from different wood, with the characteristics of the particular tree it was harvested from. Once we are finished engraving, we coat the board with an all-natural board butter made of beeswax, carnauba wax, mineral oil and orange essence. The board butter adds moisture and helps protect the board. When that is dry, we buff it with a soft cloth, and package it for shipment to you!
