Sizes are listed in the description. If we've missed sizing information please contact us, so that we can correct our mistake! Thank you.

Rusted Items: No special care is needed! Rinse with water if dirty. Rusted items are safe in all weather. No need to bring them in for the winter. Powder Coated Items: Powder Coat is a very durable finish. Safe in all weather. If needed it can be washed with soap and water. Do not use an abrasive pad. Custom Automotive Paint: Treat this finish just like your car. After 6 months of drying time it can even be polished or waxed. Safe outdoors in any weather. Will not fade or peel like spray paint. If needed our painted signs can be washed with soap and water using a soft cloth. Do not use an abrasive pad.

Gift wrapping and packaging

We do not offer gift wrap due to the size of our items. Gift wrap will not survive the shipping process in an attractive manner.

Can I send this item as a gift?

Yes, you can ship items directly to a gift recipient. Please be sure to enter their address correctly during checkout for a seamless transaction.

Will the price be displayed if I send this item as a gift?

You can select to ship the item as a gift. A packing slip will be printed with your item, but it will not include any pricing information.

Custom Garden Hanging Sign is the perfect gift! We've taken our Custom Garden Stake and made it available as a hanger with or without wire! Great for your garden gate or even to hang from your mailbox post.

Customize this sign however you like. Just leave a note during checkout exactly how you would like the text to appear. PLEASE read the full description for character limits and dimensions of each size. We cannot cut more text than stated without damage to the materials or equipment.

You can choose any message! Examples are Mom's Garden, Fairy Garden, Happy Birthday, and the list goes on. READ BELOW for character limits on each size.

The face of the stake is cut from steel about as thick as a nickel and is available in seven sizes:
• Small: 8x5 inch face: Up to two lines of text, up to 9 characters per line including punctuation and spaces
• Small/Med: 18x4 inch face: One line of text only, up to 17 characters
• Medium: 11.5x7 inch face: Up to three lines of text, up to 12 characters per line
• Medium Wide: 20x6 inch face: One line of text, up to 19 characters total
• Large: 15x9 inch face: Up to three lines of text, up to 15 characters per line
• Large Wide: 25x7 inch face: Up to two lines of text, up to 25 characters total
• Extra Large: 18.5x12 inch face: Up to three lines of text, up to 16 characters per line

Choose from our selection of colors, the classic naturally rusted finish, or raw steel for a DIY finish. Color finishes are powder coated for a durable, long-lasting finish indoors or out.

Please note that the naturally rusted finish is made of real, rusted steel. Signs have been pre-soaked to begin the rusting process. The patina will only improve with age! Irregular colors are to be expected, and with time outdoors the entire item will turn a golden rusty brown. Rusted steel can stain fabrics and leave residue on your hands. Please be aware that the item may have sharp edges. Gardening gloves are recommended. This finish is not intended as an indoor product.

This do-it-yourself raw steel sign is coated with an oily film to prevent rust during transit. While we use brand new steel and use rust preventative measures on the mild steel, your raw steel sign can develop slight surface rusting during shipment to your location. This is most likely during transits in high humidity and/or the package being delivered in the rain. Any light surface rust is easily removed by lightly sanding or scuffing with a green scrubbing pad before painting or display.

We recommend lacquer based paint thinner, acetone, automotive brake cleaner or solvent based wax & grease remover to clean the oily film off of the sign before painting. Sanding with a 220 grit or finer sand paper or using a green scrubbing pad to scuff the surface of the metal will greatly enhance paint adhesion. Spray paint with primer is an easy coating for this type of sign. We do not recommend water-based paint on raw steel products as it can cause rust instead of preventing it. Always paint the back side first, so that the front will not be placed down after painting.

We ordered this nameplate/sign for our out of this world Labrador Retriever, Jake. He made it 15 years and is buried on our land. We built a nice cross for him to mark his resting place and wanted something with his name on it. I ordered this sign with the natural rust and it came way quicker than the estimate. I can’t wait to hang it from the horizontal part of the cross. It has some rust already and we look forward to it aging over many years. This Etsy retailer hit it out of the park. I highly recommend her!
