Oval ruby zoisite cabochon for jewelry making.

Deep purplish red rough ruby with dark green zoisite. This piece has most of the ruby in the middle of the oval.

This is what I would consider a medium sized stone, 26 mm (just over 1 inch) long, 18 mm (a little under 3/4 of an inch) wide, and 7 mm (about 1/4 inch) thick. These measurements are approximate.

The opaque stone would be perfect for a solid-backed bezel setting. It is also large enough for easy handling during wire wrapping. The back of the stone is flat but not polished or shiny. There is a very small chip on the back of the stone, located on the lower right edge in the first photo, that is not visible from the front of the stone.
