This BabyRice Premium Family Hand Casting Kit contains everything you need to cast up to four adult hands and includes a premium paint and wax finish and a display plinth. You can always upgrade to a larger kit, containing double the amount of alginate and plaster if you would like to create two casts. This is also a great option for novice casters as it gives you the opportunity to practice casting with plenty of materials in reserve for the real thing.

WHAT'S INCLUDED
With everything you need to create two casts of up to four adult hands, this family hand casting kit is outstanding value.

The Standard Size Premium Family Casting Kit includes:
>>> 1 x 8x6'' plinth – choose black or mahogany-effect
>>> 1kg BabyRice Skin Safe Alginate
>>> 1kg Strong Casting Plaster
>>> 1 x 5L Casting Container
>>> 1 x Pot Black Primer
>>> 1 x Pot Metallic Wax
>>> Paintbrush
>>> Polishing Cloth
>>> Cocktail sticks to remove alginate from all the nooks & crannies
>>> And of course, easy to follow instructions

The LARGE kit contains all of the above PLUS an additional 8x6'' plinth, 1kg of alginate, 1kg of plaster, a second 5L casting container and an extra pot of black primer

HOW MANY HANDS CAN I CAST>
Well, it all depends on size of the hands and the bucket you use to create the impression mould. Using a five litre bucket, the standard kit contains enough material to create a single cast of:

up to 4 adult hands
up to 2 adults and 3 children
up to 3 adults and 2 children

If you would like to create more than one cast, why not upgrade your purchase to a Large Premium Family Hand Casting Kit. This larger kit contains double the quantity of alginate and plaster, producing two casts of up to four adult hands, when using a five litre bucket to create the impression mould. This means you can have a practice run with plenty of materials in reserve, making this a great option for first time casters.

SKIN SAFE
Our Family Hand Casting Kits contains high-grade, colour changing (chromatic) alginate impression powder, which is totally safe for use on skin. The main ingredient of BabyRice alginate is seaweed and all of our alginate conforms to British Safety Standards (BS 4269 Pt.2:1991) and ISO 1563:1990.

Our alginate has a short working and quick setting time, so you don't have to hang around for long waiting for the mould to set.

STRONG & DURABLE
Each family hand casting kit is supplied with Herculite II, a strong, white casting plaster. Thanks to a fast setting time, Herculite II is the ideal material for casting. Our white plaster provides a fantastic base for painting and faithfully captures all the detail from the impression mould.

FINISHING OPTIONS
Every BabyRice casting kit comes with a choice of finishing options. Painting your cast helps to seal and protect it, preventing dust, damp and oils from skin damaging your cast over time. Our Premium Family Hand Casting Kits are supplied with a pot of black paint, which is used as a base coat and a pot of rich, highly pigmented metallic wax. Choose from: antique silver, silver. bronze, gold, copper, brass, or our NEW rose gold.
