In the Huichol (Mexico) tradition, the blue deer represents enlightenment because he guides people to the sacred peyote plant.

Beaded design is affixed to flat stone using the traditional method of pressing brightly colored beads into a medium of beeswax and pine pitch. This piece was made with joyful intention and love. Every bead is a prayer.
