The Jaguar XJ6 was 50 years old last year, but let’s wind the clock back a little to 1993. When the XJ was 25 years old I published this limited edition airbrush print to mark the anniversary. I chose the Series 3 as it was my favourite version of the classic XJs. Using an airbrush is an incredibly complex way to paint but has a look all of its own. I used Acrylic and gouache here. Large and imposing when on the wall, this painting makes a real statement as befits a Jaguar.

All these years on, it is still the ONLY Series 3 print available and is meticulously detailed. As is typical with my work, I ensure every detail you would expect to see faithfully rendered. Even the headlight lenses are clearly defined including the Lucas branding, and you can see the texture in the indicator lenses. Further, the print was officially authorised by Jaguar Cars, granting it a notable pedigree.

The XJ was a truly stunning car, and I owned a Daimler version myself at the time of painting. The study features the subtle shading and high-gloss rendition that only an airbrush can really deliver, and much of the interior is visible through the glass.

This edition is strictly limited to 850 copies worldwide, and I sign and number each one. A certificate of authenticity accompanies each print.

Paper size: approx. 64 cm wide x 45 cm deep, or in imperial sizes, 25” wide x 17¾” deep. Image size: 46.5 cm wide x 39 cm deep, or 21¾”wide x 17”deep imperial.
