20 Gold Bullion Patches-Badge-Crest-Appliqué Set/Blue Cardigan Sweater/Embroidered/Abercrombie & Fitch/Woman (chest 36) Vintage 1970

SALE: REDUCED FROM $495.00 TO $395.00——- This is a fabulous, one-of-a-kind, vintage late 1970’s - early 1980’s), woman’s, size small, gold, embellished, navy-blue, cardigan sweater made by “Abercrombie & Fitch”. It is made in Hong Kong of 100% cotton and directions say to dry clean only. It is a waist-length, long-sleeve sweater accented with 20 metallic, gold-bullion patches surrounded by a metallic, raised, knit, square grid. It has a ribbed-knit neckline, sleeve cuffs and waist hem along with a gathered, poof shoulder. There are 7 dimensional, dome shaped, shank buttons down the front. The 20 gold patches I imagine are not made of real gold, but rather gold, metal, metallic thread and are all different sizes, shapes and styles with the largest measuring approximately 2.25 x 3 inches and the smallest about 1.5 x 1.5 inches. I do not know the origin or history of each patch. There are pictures of dragons, birds, eagles, lions, anchors, monkeys and crowns along with the words: US Champion, Superior, Flyeagle, Union, The Royal Dragons, Freedom, Airborne, Crown Eagle and USA. I can’t describe each one so check out photos) All the badges are in excellent condition, but the sweater itself has some fading around the neck and on the shoulders. I thought about taking the sweater apart and selling the patches separately, but thought I would try to sell it intact first. The faded areas possibly could be re-dyed to bring it back to snuff, but I don’t know for sure. The other option is to take it apart and use the patches for sewing projects or sell them individually.
