It is best to remove jewelry before washing hands and showering. Do not wear while handling chemicals. Some stones like turquoise and opal are considered soft on the Moh's scale and should not be subject to rigorous use. Welo or Ethiopian opals are hydrophane opals. Take care to keep them from exposure to water and it is preferable to remove them when washing hands. Hydrophane opals are subject to water absorption which may cause color change. Chlorine bleach is harmful to silver and gold so do not wear your jewelry in swimming pools. Use a good quality silver polish to clean silver. The aluminum foil and baking soda cleaning isn't the best way.

About cuffs. Ok, here's the deal. Believe it or not, there is a right and wrong way to put on a cuff bracelet. Unfortunately, many people use the wrong way. There is a gap between the ends of the bracelet that initially you may have to spread to adjust to your wrist size. ONLY DO THIS ONCE! If you continually spread the bracelet apart to put it on, I guarantee you it will eventually break. The proper way to put on a cuff is shown on different videos on You Tube. But here it is without pictures. There is a softer part of your arm above the wrist where you press the end of the cuff in (I promise it won't hurt) and roll it over your arm. Bring it down to your wrist and bend it to a comfortable fit. Just once. Remove the same way.

When ordering a wide ring I add 1/4 to 1/2 size to the ring. A wide ring will feel more snug than a narrow one and usually requires a little extra sizing to feel comfortable on the finger. If you are already aware of this please do not add to the size because I will automatically compensate for this. Just use your normal size when ordering.
