Multilayer gum dichromate ( bichromate ) print, hand-made on Arches Aquarelle (grain torchon), 100% cotton, 300g/m2 paper.
Paper size: 56x76cm (22x30") full sheet. Inner picture size: 60x42cm (24x16")
Rusty Nails. Main pigments: Van Dyck brown, lampblack.

Gum dichromate (bichromate) is an ancient, now called "alternative" photographic technique, I have practiced for more than 30 years. It is truly hand-made and truly analog. In this process, I can control every detail that affects the image. Starting from hardening and gelatine sizing of the paper, mixing and applying the light sensitive pigment layers, UV exposing to finaly bleaching and drying finished print. This picture is made of 5 monochromatic layers from one negative. It means that I repete the process five times using different pigments and different layer sensitivity. It extremely laborious and needs exceptional concentration. But it allowes to optain the unique, collectible photogram. Unrepeatable and extremely light-resistant.

Print is signed (from the left): unique print numer/date - "48/2014" ( it is not edition number!), technique - "gum bichromate", dry seal with my sign, author's signature.
I sent it unframed and unmatted, in the form of flat, well protected (against damage and moisture) package.
