Kitties in Heaven ornament - based on Christmas in Heaven poem – miniature Christmas scene with poem, for tree or table top, memorial keepsake, pet bereavement

John Connor wrote the touching poem Christmas in Heaven. Kudos to Mr. Connor for writing a poem that so touches the heart. I've altered it slightly, switching "Kitties" for "Christmas." I can picture my cat, Dusty, curled up on the seat of a chair.

Kitties in Heaven
What do they do?
They come down to Earth
to spend time with you.
So save them a seat,
just one empty chair.
You may not see them, but
they’ll always be there.


Our fur babies are family. If you've ever lost a cat, let this ornament stand in for them during the most nostalgic season of the year. It’s a wonderful way to honor their memory. I’ve tried to create a little scene that represents the spirit of the Holidays.

The details:
* The chair sits on a square of heavy cardstock. The top is decorated with paper and the sides and bottom are painted red.

* The “floor” is decorated in paper with kitties on it, along with paw prints fish bones and little hearts.

* The back of the chair is strung with a green garland and embellished with an iridescent bow with gold edges and a red glittered star.

* On the "floor" are two white ceramic bowls; one with water (or milk?) and one with kitty food (hand made).

* The poem is printed on a tag, punched on the bottom to give it a lacy look, and tied to the side the chair with gold cord.

* It hangs on the tree by a nearly invisible piece of fish line, which can be easily removed if you’d rather your chair sit on a shelf or table top.

* Approximate height of ornament is 3 1/8" (8cm), width is approx. 2 3/4" square (7cm)

Please note: The chair is painted gloss white and I cannot change the color. I do not personalize my ornaments.
