Need more than we show in stock? We’re happy to make matching sets for wedding parties, etc. Contact us with your request, including the name of the item and how many you need. See a style you like but wish it had a different stone or metal? Contact us about your custom request. Custom requests may vary in price from the original based upon the changes you request and whether we already have the materials on hand.

Gift wrapping and packaging

We offer the option for you to have your jewelry packaged inside a rayon brocade jewelry pouch for gifting (instead of our standard brown box). You can select this by adding on "gift wrap" at checkout. We will choose a pouch color and wrap your order inside bubble wrap before placing it inside the pouch. Standard packaging will have your jewelry packaged inside a cotton-lined brown kraft jewelry box with tissue paper and/or a plastic zip bag. Every order is carefully packed within multiple layers of cushioning to ensure safe arrival. Most small and medium-sized orders will arrive in a recyclable padded mailing envelope. Larger orders may arrive in a shipping box or in multiple padded envelopes, depending on size, weight, and destination.

Repurposed/upcycled jewelry

Some of our jewelry features stones and embellishments that have been upcycled from secondhand pieces and given a new lease on life! Upcycled pieces have been disassembled, cleaned, and reinvented, using brand-new ear wires and connectors. Pieces with repurposed components are noted as such in the listings and generally are one-of-a-kind items that cannot be ordered in sets. Repurposed components may show some wear from their previous life. We may or may not have been able to identify the repurposed stones. Listing descriptions and photos for repurposed components will reflect all of these potential issues, and such items are priced accordingly.

Gemstone Care Instructions

Please remove your jewelry before swimming, showering, or exercising. Makeup & everyday dust contain minerals that are abrasive to soft gemstones. Chlorine, salt, soaps, lotions, household cleaners, & even perspiration can all damage stones and metals and shorten the life of your jewelry. Pearls and opals need to be protected from extreme heat and cold. Cleaning is best done with a soft cloth. Cleaners intended for diamond rings may damage softer stones. Warm soapy water is safe for most stones. Harder stones like agate, quartz, or jasper will scratch and dull softer stones like lapis lazuli, opal, or malachite. Glass and metal can also scratch or be scratched. Store in a resealable bag or a jewelry pouch to prevent scratches.

Silver, Gold, and Copper Care Instructions

Protect from chemicals (like cleaners, moisturizers, & pool water) and abrasives (like makeup, sand, & salt) that can wear away the gold or silver layer. Every purchase ships in a resealable plastic storage bag. Prevent tarnish by storing your jewelry in the bag when not in use. Most metal jewelry, except solid gold or pure silver, is at risk of tarnish from exposure to air and moisture. This includes sterling silver, which is 92.5% silver and 7.5% copper alloy. If tarnish has already occurred, gently remove with a soft polishing cloth. There are many advantages to silver-plated or gold-plated jewelry, including affordability and the hardness of the alloyed metal core. Taking good care of your plated pieces will extend their lifespan. 😊

When will you ship my order?

We know you want to enjoy your new jewelry as soon as possible! Most of our pieces are ready-to-ship. We ship every day except Sunday. Ready-to-ship orders received by 11 p.m. will go out to the post office the next day. Some of our pieces are made-to-order, and this is noted within the listing. Your jewelry will be made for you when we receive your order, and made-to-order items will ship within 2 to 4 days. Our standard shipping method is USPS First Class. We ship from southern NJ; arrival times will vary according to your location. Please keep in mind all major carriers still have occasional transit delays. If you need your jewelry close to its estimated arrival date, please consider upgrading your shipping method at checkout!

How long before my order arrives?

All orders ship with tracking from southern NJ. You will receive a shipment notification email with your tracking number -- this means that we have packaged your order & that it's on its way to the post office! Pre-transit: Typically our local post office scans in all packages at the end of the business day regardless of what time we mail the package. Until then, tracking will show as pre-transit. In-transit: Between the time that your order leaves the South Jersey distribution center and your own local distribution center, tracking may or may not update. Estimated arrival date: These are computer-generated estimates based on origin & destination zip codes. Please consider upgrading your shipping at checkout if arrival date matters!

We want you to be not just satisfied but thrilled about your Snarky Owl purchase! If you are not delighted with your order, please contact us within 3 days of delivery for a return or exchange. Returned items must be sent back in their original condition, unworn. Buyers are responsible for return shipping costs, and you must ship the item back to us within 14 days of delivery.

Oh no! If an order arrives damaged, please send us photos to facilitate the postal claim. Where is it?? First class shipping generally takes 3-5 days in transit, but can sometimes take up to two weeks. Be aware that carriers, especially the USPS, are experiencing internal delays that can make these transit times less predictable. It's the nature of vintage that there might be less information available than brand-new -- but isn't the mystery part of the allure? We research based on maker signatures, metal quality marks, appearance, & design. Any stampings or signatures will be disclosed & included within the listing photos. Sterling silver pieces will include whether the determination was made by stamp (925 or STERLING) or by testing. We're committed to truthfully disclosing signs of wear and/or uncertainties about maker or material. Product details are to the best of our knowledge based on the factors above. We don't polish vintage pieces -- they will come with their natural patina, but we sometimes spot-clean a piece before photographing, if it's very dirty.
