Throughout mythologies, cultures, and eras, death has presented different selves and faces: mysterious, terrifying, and captivating. Now, in Tarot XIII, some of the Selves of Death have been recreated lovingly, hand-drawn with ink to capture the stark contrasts between the soft beauty and the heavy caress of future Fate and Fortune.
Tarot XIII is a 78-card tarot deck, with a complete Major Arcana of 22 Death-deifying figures based on the Rider-Waite-Smith contemporary tradition and drawn into classical styles from the culture they reach out from. It also contains a full deck of Minor Arcana suite cards -- cups, coins, staves, and swords -- in the vintage Piranesi style, based off of a Major Arcana figure and sharing stories of Death -- allegorical, folkloric, and historical -- on the four-card royal faces.
Funded by a successful and generous kickstarter campaign, each card was drawn by hand with traditional materials, and each deck printed in the USA. Every deck also comes with a booklet briefly describing each of the stories or spirits that lurk within -- all written and designed by the artist, Alexander Finis.

Reviews for this item
Oh, I love this deck, and that’s just based on the art alone. It’s definitely not a beginner-friendly deck, and I’m still getting acquainted with it on a deeper level, but the reads?…whew. Something tells me this is going to become my new favorite deck.
Absolutely stunning. I knew when I found it I needed it. It arrived a lot sooner than I thought it would, which is a huge plus. The artwork is awesome and perfectly captures the essence of what the deck is about. It's a subject that is the main focus of my practice as well as how I read. This deck is the perfect fit to combine those.
These cards are absolutely stunning. I adore them so much.
Shipping was a bit delayed but considering the current circumstances, I have no issue with it. I love the theme of the deck and the use of all the death figures. I have yet to read with it, but the deck cards are a bit more slippery than I'm used to. I also really liked the little booklet that came with this.
