"Sidereus Nuncius: Pleiadvm Constellatio" is a modern letterpress interpretation of an observation of the Pleiades star cluster made by Galileo Galilei with his small telescope in 1610. Galileo compiled several astronomical observations into a pamphlet he entitled "Sidereus Nuncius", or "The Starry Messenger", which was printed to bring these observations to a larger public. Along with this magnified depiction of the Pleiades, Galileo included images of the craters on the Moon, other constellations, and the moons of Jupiter.

This piece was printed at a letterpress workshop in Boston, Massachusetts, on a Vandercook No 4 proof press using six-pointed star ornaments cast in lead. It is available in either Magnani Pescia -- a bright white fine art paper -- or Strathmore Laid -- a natural text paper with mold lines visible, much like the original printing. It measures 8" x 10".
