If you’re a fan of Barn Quilts, then this is the quilt for you! And we should warn you...these Barn Quilts are very addictive to make!
With this pattern you have the option to make your barns and silos in two sizes (11" blocks or 22" blocks)
The 18 page pattern includes instructions for how to cut and make up to 12 different Barn Quilts to “hang” on your barns. You choose how many barn quilt blocks you want to make and whether you want to build your barns at 11-inches with 3" barn quilt blocks or at 22-inches with 6" barn quilt blocks. How many blocks you make and what size you make them will determine the size of your finished quilt.
(Below for some example finished quilt sizes.)
9 Barns & 3 silos Arranged in three rows
Finished size of 36.5" x 36.5" (11" blocks)
Finished size of 72.5" x 66.5" (22" blocks)
12 Barns and 4 silos Arranged in four rows
Finished size of 36.5" x 44.5" (11" blocks)
Finished size of 72.5" x 88.5" (22" blocks)
FABRIC REQUIREMENTS:
For the "Barn Quilts" I encourage you to pull from your stash of scraps. If you prefer a more coordinated look, you might pull from a layer cake or a jelly roll. For those of you who prefer a coordinated scrappy look, you can repeat fabrics used in certain elements (i.e. the sky or barns) See image in listing for approximate fabric quantities for these elements if you choose to make a "coordinated scrappy" version.
TOOLS & NOTIONS:
Basic sewing and rotary cutting supplies are recommended, but no specialty rulers are required to make this quilt.
