The material cork is obtained from the bark of the cork oak. Not a single tree has to be felled for cork production; the cork oak is simply peeled. Peeling the cork trees has no negative impact on the natural development of the cork oak. A cork tree is first peeled at the age of 25. The bark then grows back naturally and is only peeled every 9 years, up to 17 times in total.

We chose cork textile as a vegan leather alternative. Cork textile feels velvety soft. The feel of the textile is comparable to supple suede. Due to the natural grain of the cork bark, each model is unique. Cork textile is also robust, water-repellent, odorless, anti-allergic and easy to care for.
