A Traditional Granny Square Crochet pattern: A 9 Page crochet pattern with a photo tutorial for making our bag, (we do not include how to line the bag, the pattern is for making the bag only.)
There is no stitching 🧵 involved, other than sewing in your yarn ends.

I have not included how to line the bag as I designed the bag as a market bag. The pattern is for a crochet tutorial, although it is possible to line the bag if you prefer. It’s simple to line, if you use the shape of the bag without handles as a template. I’ve now made two bags one as a market bag and the other lined and they both work really well, and are a useful project for using up your stash.I made my bag using Stylecraft classique cotton, this is a lovely yarn with a beautiful drape but you could make it any dk cotton yarn you have tucked away. Each round takes approx 9 grams of the yarn and makes it an ideal sash busting project

approx size of bag not including handles is 13” (33cm)high by 12” (30cm )wide.

The pattern is written in U.K. terms with US terms for ease of conversion.
You will need to be familiar with the following stitches : Foundation double crochet ( US foundation sc) *we have given instructions in the pattern for this stitch*
double crochet (US sc),
treble (US dc ), chain and double crochet (US sc) ,
