A Smart Goal is:

SPECIFIC (What exactly are you going to do to reach your goal, and how are you going to do it?)
MEASURABLE (Good steps can be clearly defined, tracked and checked off when you finish them. Will completing the steps lead to your overall goal?)
ATTAINABLE (Are the steps in the plan things you can reasonably expect to accomplish?)
REALISTIC (Double-check your plan and make sure there aren't any steps missing on your road to success.)
TIMELY (Set deadlines for every step so you can meet your goal in a timely fashion.)
