KPM Berlin Neu-Ozier (Neuzierat) Floral Dessert Plate – Raised Gilt – Post-1832…Exquisite

From The Royal Factory of Berlin. Completely hand-painted, this exquisite plate features vibrant bouquets of summer flowers in the traditional German manner. A delicate blossom centers the field, while richly detailed floral groupings are framed within sculptural, raised gilt rocaille cartouches that gracefully encircle the rim. The heavy gilding enamel gives the piece depth and architectural presence, beautifully complementing the floral decoration.

The Neu-Ozier form traces its origins to 18th-century Berlin porcelain and is associated with services produced during the reign of Frederick II (1712–1786). The ornate raised gilding was designed to harmonize with the elaborate stucco and decorative interiors favored in Prussian royal residences.

The underside bears the underglaze blue royal sceptre mark of KPM Berlin, together with the red imperial orb and KPM cipher used after 1832. The red orb was employed to designate pieces decorated with floral, figural, or scenic motifs. Additional painted, impressed, or stamped marks may be present, consistent with Berlin factory production.

Condition

There are no chips, cracks, or restorations.

There are a few tiny, nearly imperceptible marks consistent with age, along with a very small kiln-related imperfection (circled in a photograph).

The camera light reflects directly beneath it; it is minimal and does not detract from the beauty or presentation of the plate.
