These large blocks (300 grams) of soap from Marseille are guaranteed to add a rustic charm to any laundry or bathroom and they are amazing soaps to use.  They are hypoallergenic and have bacterial properties. Made by the family-owned Le Serail company in Marseille, each goes through a five-stage process and then pressed using vintage molds.  The soaps are made from pure coconut and copra oils. The green block contains palm and coconut but also 50% olive oil, making it wonderful for dry skin. They can also be used for laundry and I know some people who use it as a shampoo. (Please note that these do not contain fragrance). Each is individually crafted so no two will look exactly the same.

As these soaps become exposed to air, they do dry out and begin to turn a brownish color on the edges. However, this does not affect the cleansing properties of the soap at all. Your bar may have a thin layer of white salt from the curing process. This is normal and will come off after the first use. Each bar is unique and may also have some quirky little bumps and bruises.
