Liked the format it was all written in but could have been clearer that this wasn’t for beginners. Didn’t realise I couldn’t use standard needles for this design. Looking forward to revising this pattern when I’m more confident with knitting.

I am not sure what you mean by standard needles. You can use any double points, magic loop method, short circulars. If you mean straight needles...yes, this pattern is written in the round and you cannot use straight needles. This pattern is for beginners, but it doesn't teach knitting. You need to know how to knit and cast off, cast on, which are all things beginners should know to knit a pattern, but as I stated, this pattern doesn't teach you those things. Any stitch you do not know, YouTube is a great resource. Goodluck!

Easy pattern to follow and adapt -- I used 4m needles instead of 5mm and just bumped up the number of cast on stitches. Results were great.
