Exceptional 18” KPM Berlin Neu-Ozier Platter Deutsche Blumen Blue Sceptre Mark

An exceptional and generously scaled 18-inch KPM Berlin porcelain serving platter, executed in the classic Neu-Ozier form with molded basket-weave relief border and gilded edges.

The Neu-Ozier model was first introduced by KPM Berlin in the late 18th century (circa 1770s). The elegant woven “osier” border reflects refined neoclassical taste while retaining sculptural depth and texture.

The central field is beautifully decorated in the traditional Deutsche Blumen style — naturalistic German floral sprays inspired by botanical studies. The flower painting is of particularly fine quality, with graceful shading and balanced composition.

The underside bears the underglaze blue sceptre mark of KPM Berlin. The mark is somewhat softened and lightly faded, likely from stacking contact during firing or storage, but remains visible and consistent with authentic production.

Condition

A small hairline (approximately 5/8”) is present on the underside rim. It does not extend through to the front surface and is not visible when displayed.

The floral decoration remains vibrant and beautifully preserved.

There is light wear to the gilding along portions of the rim, consistent with age and gentle handling. The wear is subtle and does not detract from the overall elegance or presentation of the piece.
