"Symposium" Earrings

A symposium scene of love takes center stage in these earrings, designed for archaeology enthusiasts, particularly those interested in ancient Greek pottery. Despite the simple materials, the contrast between the black and yellow/gold colors makes this archaeological jewel suitable for the most elegant occasions.

PRODUCT TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS:
High-quality, oval wooden drop earrings (4.0 x 3.0 cm), with a polished surface and glossy finish; onyx beads, gold-tone metal elements, and antique-inspired crafted resins. Open bronze-tone metal earwires with silicone butterfly clasps. All metal elements may contain traces of nickel, as permitted by law. Total earring length: 9 cm.

The print of the image of the find, applied to the wooden elements with synthetic resin glue, was edited with computer graphics software and vitrified by hand through a lengthy artisanal process, using a final protective water-based vitrification varnish and epoxy resin.

SUBJECT
Love scene with hetaerae and symposiast, from the inside of a red-figure kylix (cup) from 490-480 BC, preserved at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.
