This right here is what started it all! This piece is a self portrait of myself that I created back in 2017. It's original title is called "self goretrait" but I find it more fitting these days if I call it a "self reflection". A lot of people I know always ask me why on earth I decided to gouge out my eyeballs lol. "But Brandy, you have such pretty eyes! Why did you take them out?!" Well I can tell you for one, this is one piece I have made that really resembles everything I do. Hence why it is my main photo on all of my social medias. This piece is a self reflection of me as an artist coping with depression and high functioning anxiety growing up. I have always had a hard time looking people in the eyes when I speak and one of my fears has always been things touching my eyeballs. (Like the ending of Game of Thrones with the scene with the Hound. You ALL know what I'm talking about. *shiver*) So this here is a representation of me breaking out of my shell and fully emerging into what I am passionate about. I am no longer letting my fears hold me back and I am ready take on all of the things that scare me or make me uncomfortable. And what better way to draw yourself than in your complete art style am I right?!
