Hello and Welcome to the Textile Trunk!

This unique vest is French and dates from the early 1900s, or late 1800's! ~ This fabulous theatrical garment was likely made for a play. This vest was made using both a lilac purple velvet fabric embroidered with metallic gold thread and little silvery polka dots, and a plaid cotton fabric on the back. The vest is lined with a plain neutral toned cotton on the backside of the velvet. There are ties at the back for adjusting fit, and down the front there are little metal hook and eye claps for closing. This vest would make a FANTASTIC part of a costume! ~*~ Gorgeous and fun!

MEASUREMENTS : This textile measures approximately :
Length: 26 inches at the front, 21 inches at the back.
Chest: 17.5 inches from one underarm to the other, laid flat across the front
Shoulders across the back: 12 inches

CONDITION : This vest is in as found, not freshly laundered condition. The front side is unevenly faded and has some pale watermarks and storage marks. There are some pale marks on the plain cotton lining. Overall lovely condition for it's age with a lovely aged look to the velvet! ~
