Flower essences are usually preserved with alcoholic spirits. I use clear natural rum as it is simple and pure, pleasantly scented, and is well tolerated by those sensitive to mold or grains.

I also offer organic apple cider vinegar or vegetable glycerin as preservers. Both have potential drawbacks.

Vinegar tastes very sour. The acidic fumes will eventually deteriorate the rubber cap of the dropper. This isn't an issue if the flower essence is used regularly (taking the cap off releases the fumes) and within a few months.

Glycerin tastes sweet, though it contains no sugars. I use glycerin when a flower essence is for a child. Flower essences in glycerin do not keep as long. They can be refrigerated to extend their life.

Flower essences preserved with alcoholic spirits will usually keep for several years if kept in a dark location away from strong odors.

They should not be stored in bright light or near strong electromagnetic fields.

It is fine to take more than one formula at the same time.

If the dropper touches anything, it is important to immediately rinse in hot water before replacing in the bottle.

So I think this is a good product and powerful blend, but can't give it a full 5 stars. It's been after ordering blends from other stores made with glycerin I realized the version of this essence I ordered was made with some albums, or there was cross contamination. I'm in recovery and very sensitive to grain alcohol. I thought it was just my imagination after using this for awhile but realized since using it the distinct taste and smell of grain alcohol not present in the glycerin only essences I've ordered from other sellers. Realized I could only take this at night because it made me sleepy, and now think it's because of the alcohol content. If alcohol is not a concern for you, I highly recommend this blend, but I've stopped using this and will dump it out or give it to a friend.
